ABOUT ME

My name is Jakob Sahner, I am an astrophotographer from the Black Forest. I grew up in the area around Freiburg in a small town in the Markgräflerland. 

I slipped into photography by chance and now I do it out of passion! I started in 2017 when I did an apprenticeship as a photo and media technical assistant. Initially, I had no relation to astrophotography but when I was looking for photography tutorial videos on Youtube and a video on astrophotography was suggested, I was immediately struck.

Shortly after that I tried to take pictures of the starry sky. This allowed me to gain my first experiences and missteps and learn from them. On my trip I learned a lot, met many people and visited many places, from Iceland to the Alps to La Palma (Canary Islands) and there are still many places on my list!
