135mm panorama of the
Milky Way center over La Palma version 1 (2020)
Details
The idea of a 135mm panorama of the Milky Way had been on my mind for a while. When I was on La Palma in 2020, together with Adrien Mauduit, to coincide with the Perseids meteor shower, we both wanted to try it, as Adrien had the same idea in mind!
We looked for a windless place (which was more difficult than expected) and started shooting. Since we only found a windless corner, we had to share a tripod including tracking and take turns taking our shots. He started and after about 1 hour it was my turn.
It also took me about an hour, shortly after which I took the foreground shots from the same position.
Then at home in Photoshop a little tinkering and it was ready. The version 2 of this project with more exposure time, more experience and a different image section is again much better, but I am still very happy with this image as it is still one of the only of its kind!
